| Time spent sailtraining aboard the Royaliste is always a rewarding experience.
Whether the ship's crew comprises a corporate group, or just a group of close friends, team-building adventure is generally the result. From hoisting the mainsail, to trimming the headsails and squaresails, hands on experience is the norm in an average sail.
There are no modern power devices such as winches onboard. All means of mechanical advantage are explained by the crew in a layman's terminology; we leave the 'rocket science' to modern vessels. Sweating and tailing as a team is the preferred way of belaying a line aboard he Royaliste.
The ship's sailing characteristics make sailing a period vessel a pleasure, as each effort applied to her sails yields results in speed or handling. When under full sail, you can relax and enjoy the scenery as you feel the spray breaking on the bow quarter.

"Dude: Thanks so much for setting that up. I owe you many beers for that. That was one of the funnest things I have done in a long assed time! I hope we didn't foul up the captain's boat too much. I'd be glad to help him scrape barnacles off the thing some time to make up for it if so. Frankly, just being near boats is a cheap thrill for me.
The whole experience was perfect; from the crazy assed minister of armaments and other nuts in the crew, to the cannons, to the nice big swell we were sailing in, to the puking members of my crew, to the whimpering captive in the background, the blunderbusses (I must have one) –damn if that wasn't fun! You have to put me in touch with the First Mate (or minister of armaments or whatever); he is a real damned pirate!"
If you are looking for an exciting and enjoyable way to build confidence, or just have a new experience with a group of friends or colleagues, try a sailtraining adventure aboard the Royaliste.
